My grandfather, Michael J Knipfing (born 9/26/1875) (aka Johann Michael KNÜPFING) and his (half-) brother Fred Hilpert (aka Melchior Fridolin Hilpert) came to Brooklyn NY about 1880 from Himmelstadt, Bavaria, Germany. Fred Hilpert was born 3/8/1865. Fred Hilpert would be my great uncle. My grandfather, Mike Knipfing, and Fred Hilpert had the same mother, who would be my great grandmother. Her name was Regina (Hemelman, Hilpert) KNÜPFING. She was married to a Hilpert and had a son Fred Hilpert before she married my great grandfather, also named Michael KNÜPFING. A document from my grandfather shows Fred Hilpert's wife's name was Anna Hilpert with a last known address in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Mike and Fred had a sister known as “Tina” born on 9/23/1868, and other siblings (Agatha, John, and Elizabeth). Fred was the oldest and Mike was the yougest.

The Hilpert pictures (Fred, wife Anna, cousin General Hilpert) shown were received recently (along with some other pics) from Hilda Hilert currently of Texas ....
The other picture is one that I took of a wall grouping of Sylvester Knuepfing (WWI) in a Knipfing relatives' home that I visited in Wurzburg near Himmelstadt Bavaria Germany.
